關於/about Living in Berlin

Living in Berlin 開始到現在已經發佈了一些，所以想要來說說，這到底是在幹嘛的一個活動？

其實一開始的想法很簡單，既然我住在柏林，那我就要做一些是只能在這個時間這個地點才能發生的事情，一期一會的一個想法，如果只有跟柏林有關係，好像又少了一點什麼，和朋友們討論討論以後，想進行的計劃就越來越明確，那就來訪問住在這裡的大家吧！我想要去訪問大家，為什麼會來到這裡？
          在這裡做什麼？
          你喜歡這裡嗎？
          那你喜歡這裡的什麼？

透過拍照/和人的交流/不同的環境，我想要試試看找出這個城市的一些什麼，我也不知道是什麼的什麼，但就想要做做看，而很有趣的是，每一次的訪問，我都獲得了一些什麼，獲得了一些新的想法，或是一些提醒自己的事情，當然我希望受訪者也是，透過這個活動也有得到一些什麼。

這個活動有目標幾個人嗎？ 答案是，沒有，當然越多越好 ：）

這個計劃會有結束的時候嗎？ 一定會有，我希望在結束的那時候我可以把這些東西整理起來，做點什麼，或許可以有一本小雜誌（吧）

What is Living in Berlin basically? 

Well, my first thought is really simple, I want to make a project that can only happen in this moment, this place, like the Japanese's saying : ichi-go ichi-e, everything happens only one time in this moment, but I think, if my project is only about the city, it seems lack of something, therefore, after every discussions with friends, the idea is more and more clear, I would like to interview the people here. PEOPLE WHO LIVE HERE, my target group, I want to have connection with new friends, see and experience this city through their eyes, to discover this city and people more and more.

questions will be like, WHY ARE YOU HERE?
                               WHAT ARE YOU DOINGN HERE?
                               DO YOU LIKE BERLIN?
                               WHY OR WHY NOT?
                               WHERE OR WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE HERE?

Untill now, every interview is a unique experience for me, visit different people, go to their house, enjoy the chat, I have got many ideas and inspirations about life, or something to keep in mind, of course I hope my interviewee as well.

Is there a target number for this project? No, more is better :)

Will there an end for this project? Definitely yes, but i'll do it my best and try to make a final project like a zine (I hope!)

Living in Berlin x interview 006

Alba，來自西班牙，馬德里，目前在柏林學語言和努力生活中。住在Wedding，是的，我們又回到Wedding區了！這真是一個受大家歡迎的區塊！

Alba, comes from Madrid, Spain, she is learning german and having a new life here. She lives in Wedding, yes, we are back to Wedding again! What a popular area here!

西班牙烘蛋！是的，好喜歡西班牙菜啊，做法十分簡單，先把馬鈴薯切片還有洋蔥切塊，然後用橄欖油去稍微炸一下，然後撈出來，把跟打好的蛋一起攪拌，然後再倒回鍋子裡面去，差不多凝固的時候，要整個翻面，然後再弄回去鍋子裡，等到蛋都熟了，就完成了！要記得用不沾鍋！

Tortilla! Oh, I love spanish food so much! It's simple to do it, first, cut the potatoes and onions, and then fried it with olive oil, then put it in to the bowl with the beate eggs, then put them all backs to the pan, when the edges are stable, then turn the upside down, then it's done! Don't forget to use a non-stick pan!

沙拉，mozzarella/生菜/蕃茄丁，加上橄欖油，就完成了，十分的簡單！
Salad, Mozzarella/ Eisbergsalat, and tomatos, with olive oil, over.

畢業後，作為一個英文老師忙碌的工作了一年，然後決定要換換不同的生活環境，試試看其他的事物，於是，就在這裡了。（是的，跟兩年前的我一樣，同樣年紀，同樣的理由阿！）

After graduating from university, she worked as an english teacher for a crazy year, then she decided to have some change, try something new, and some other reasons, therefore, here she is. (yes, the same as I was, for two years ago, the same age and the same reason.)

喜歡柏林嗎？

DO YOU LIKE BERLIN?

很喜歡。有很多開放空間。 馬德里不小，但是人太多了，柏林很大，人不多，所以住起來很舒服。（稍微查了一下wiki，柏林的人口密度是3,818/km²，而馬德里的人口密度是5,403.12/km²）。覺得在柏林有腳踏車是一件很不錯的事情，因為有專用的腳踏車道，所以可以安心地騎腳踏車。

Yes, I like Berlin. There are many open space. Madrid is not small but too many people, Berlin is big enough for many people, so it is comfortable to live. (WIKI: the population density in Berlin is 3,818/km², and in Madrid is 5,403.12/km²) And it's also good to have a bike here, cuz there are streets for bike only.

你是去年的冬天來到柏林的，比起馬德里，不覺得這裡的冬天很難活嗎？

You are in Berlin since last winter, is that not hard for you to live here in winter, compare with Madrid?

之前住過芬蘭一年，所以實際上沒有那麼困難。

It's not so hard cuz she already lived one year in Finnland before.

  

  

週末喜歡做什麼？

What do you do on weekends?

來到這裡的每一個週末幾乎都有朋友來訪，所以幾乎週末都在陪朋友，其餘的時間就是睡覺睡到自然醒了（笑）

Since she is in Berlin, many friends come to visit her on weekend, so, the most time is  being a good tourist guide, the rest is sleep as long as possible :)

Living in Berlin x interview 005

Natsuko 來自日本 名古屋，來柏林大約一年，目前住在Friedrichshain。這一區應該是觀光客比較不會去的區塊，同樣有很多特色小店，非常多的餐廳，但是有很獨特的氛圍，年輕人滿多的。

Natsuko, comes from Nagoya, Japan, lived in Berlin for almost one year, now lives in Friedrichshain. I think, there are not so many tourist, but there are still lots of cool store, shop and restaurants, a unique atmosphere here, many young people.

家裡的傢俱都是自己去找，融合了東西方的元素，來自日本的小禮物，來自印度的桌子，非常舒服的客廳啊！
There are various elements in their apartment, combining west and east, like gift from Japan, for their wedding, desk from India, really comfortable!

喜歡柏林嗎？她說：就還可以而已。

Do you like Berlin? She said, well, it is just okay for me.

去年來到柏林的時候，因為天氣非常的不好，第一印象壞透了，然後緊接著就是誰都難以忍受的冬天，來到柏林後才開始學德文，之前是住在法蘭克福，一個只要講英文就可以的城市。他來到柏林之前聽說這裡很國際化，但是真的來了以後覺得跟她的想像有一定程度的落差。

Last year as she came to Berlin, the weather was so bad, so she had a really bad first impression hier, and then came the unbearable winter in Berlin, so that's really hard. She lived in Frankfurt am Main for two years, but she doesn't need to speak german there, so, she started to learn german when she lives in Berlin. Before she came to Berlin, she heard that here is quite international, but it's still different from her imagination. 

不過柏林的夏天真的很好，所以她現在正在慢慢改觀中。

But the summer in Berlin is really wonderful, so she is changing her mind slowly

住過很多城市的她，最喜歡的是曾經住過一年的舊金山，那裡的天氣很好，很適合渡假，但是他並不會想在那裡有家庭生活，德國相對而言觀光就弱了一點，但是很適合長久生活。不過我們兩個都一致同意，慕尼黑真的很好吃，哈哈

She has lived in many cities, her favorite city is San Francisco, the weather there is really nice, perfect for vacation, but she doesn't want to start a family there. For her, the sightseeings in Germany is not so attractive, but it is good to stay long, to live. But we both agree that the food in Munich is delicious!

每個禮拜固定會去上兩次跳舞課的她，跳的是肚皮舞和capoeira，巴西戰舞，非常的酷！肚皮舞他已經學四年了，在日本的時候就開始了，capoeira則是來這裡才開始的，忘記請她秀一段了（暈）

She goes now 2 times a week to dance classes, Belly dance and Capoeira, so cool! She has learned Belly dance for 4 years since she was in Japan, and Capoeira is just beginning, I forgot to ask her show me a little bit....

目前是幸福人妻的她，接下來想要在柏林開一間小店，賣些日本的小吃，因為他覺得這裡的餐廳很多，可是小吃卻很少，讓我想起充滿小吃的台南啊！！！總之，就讓我們期待吧！

Now she is a happy housewife, her dream is to have a small Imbiss which sells snacks from Japan, cuz she thinks that there are many restaurants but the sorts of snacks are not enough!!! It reminds me my lovely hometown, Tainan, where are full of delicious snacks!!!! Anyway, that's wait for her Imbiss!!!

進行到第五個了！真是感謝大家的參與，每一次都是全新的練習啊，不同的環境，截然不同的燈光，討論不同的話題，得到新的想法，真是謝謝，謝謝。

Living in Berlin x interview 004

田甜，來自中國北京，目前是中文學校的老師。已經住在柏林十年，住在Charlottenberg （是的，我們短暫離開Wedding了），是一個好區，生活機能很方便的地方，安全又舒適是我對這一區的印象。

Tian, comes from Beijing, China, is a teacher in Chinese school. She already lives in Berlin for ten years, in Charlottenberg (yes, we leave Wedding shortly.), it's a good area, very convenient for shopping and living, comfortable and safe is my impression for this area.

田甜的家，幾乎每個禮拜都去，但還是有一些之前沒有發現的角落！

例如這個面具，他說他很喜歡面具，這是之前在這裡的大學有面具課，那個時候做的，是用自己的臉去翻模的，然後找自己想要的風格去完成，他自己設定的主題是貴婦！哈哈！

I visit Tian almost every week, but there are still something that I didn't notice before! For example, the mask, she says: I love mask so much! The mask is made by her class in University, that is her face, they did the mock up on their own face, and then try to finish it with decoration which is the style they like, and her style is? A rich but elegant lady:)

喜歡畫畫的他，家裡牆上掛的畫都是他畫的，目前架子上還擺著兩幅還沒開始畫的畫布，據說是冬天放到現在，應該最近就會開始畫了（吧）。

She likes painting, all the paintings are from her, now there are still two blank canvas, they shall be painted recently, according to her, haha. 

聊到中文學校的時候簡直是笑翻了，因為小朋友就是這麼的不受控制，千奇百怪的對話都有，講解古詩的意境，沒有什麼人在聽，但是講解到兩岸猿聲啼不住這句的時候，大家全醒了，小朋友的重點全放在猴子身上了，還問了將近三十分鐘的問題。

We chatted about the teacher's life in Chinese school, it was soooooo funny, cuz the kids are anyway uncontrollable, tons of ridiculous conversations. She said, as she talked about the meaning of the poem, no one cared, but when it goes to the detail of every words, the kids were awake for the single word, Monkey, and kept asking questions for 30 min.

喜歡柏林媽？ 當然啊，不然怎麼會待這麼久？

比起住在鄉下或是小鎮上，還是比較喜歡熱鬧的地方，覺得柏林很國際化，大大小小的各種活動、節慶很多。目前最喜歡去的地方是Hackescher Markt，有很多有特色的小店可以逛，還有很多餐廳可以吃！

Do you like Berlin?  Of course, or how could I stay here for so long?

Compair with living in the small town or the subside area, she still loves to stay in city, somewhere more people, and much more to see and to do. She thinks that Berlin is quite international, there are lots of activities and festivals. Her favorite place is Hackescher Markt, because there are many variety stores to vist, and many restaurants to eat!

後記：在家裡拍完以後，我們就跑去吃漢堡了，也在那附近，加了鳳梨的漢堡真是王道！

After taking photos home, we went to eat hamburger, not far from her house, I got to say, pineapple and hamburger are perfect match!

Living in Berlin x interview 003

Devin，來自美國，是我兩年前在柏林的語言班同學，沒想到兩年後，我們不約而同地都回到了柏林來，同樣都是一結束手邊的工作/學業，馬上飛奔回來，哈哈。

Devin, who comes from USA. We were in the same language school 2 years ago, it's quite cool, after two years, we both decide to fly back to Berlin, right after finishing the work / study, haha.

說起來真的很有趣，柏林到底有什麼魔力，讓大家一直走了又回？

so, it's really interesting, what makes people leave and come back, again and again?

Devin住在維吉尼亞州，我還沒去過美國，於是對於美國的長相只能說是毫無概念，於是我們聊起了地理，他很快速地在筆記本上畫出了美國的地圖，然後簡單地介紹了一下他的家鄉和她唸書的地方。

Devin's hometown is in Virginia, I've never been to USA, so basically I have no idea about the geography, she quickly drew on the notebook how it looks like, the whole USA, where the NYC is and where she has lived and studied.

這已經是他第四次來到柏林住了，每一次都住在柏林的不同地方，這一次，他住在Wedding。（是的，本計劃的前三個受訪者都住在Wedding！）

This is her 4th times to live in Berlin, every time she lives in different area, this time, she lives in Wedding. (yes, till now, every interviewer lives in Wedding!)

Wedding是一個很特別的區域，我同學戲稱這裡是小伊斯坦堡，我想也不無道理，因為這裡住了很多土耳其人，但是也有很多的外來移民，因為這裡也有不少的學生宿舍。

Wedding is a special area, a friend once said: here is the small Istanbul, I think, it makes sense, cuz many Turkish people live here, but still there are some other foreign, due to the student dorm.

這裡的街道很熱鬧，可是也有很安靜的，我們去的這個咖啡店就是這樣，走著走著都忘記自己還在Wedding了，配合著午後的陽光的咖啡店啊！店名叫做Schade（遺憾），可是明明就是一個還滿舒適的角落，不知道叫做Schade的意義是什麼，或許下次要問問老板。

The main streets are loud and vivid, but the area we went was quiet, I almost forgot that we were still in Wedding, the cafe we went is Schade(which means pity), but it's a comfortable corner, maybe I should interview the boss next time!

最喜歡柏林哪裡？

Where is your favorite place in Berlin?

思考了一下，說: 這真是個好問題。又想了一下，她說: 或許是Tiergarten吧。

She thought for a while, said: it's a good question, then another while, and said: maybe it is Tiergarten.

週末的時候，devin也喜歡騎著腳踏車，帶著書/食物/布，就到公園或是湖邊去，悠悠哉哉的休息，柏林真的是一個很綠色的城市，公園和湖邊無時無刻都有很多人（天氣好的時候），還有一堆人會跳進去游泳！

She also likes to ride bike, bring book, food, a blanket then direct into park or lake, just take a rest, Berlin is really a green city, people are always in park or around the lake, when the weather good is, some swimming in the lake as well.

她說，柏林是一個大城市，可是你會覺得它很小。

She said: Berlin is a big city, but you feels it small.

我想這是因為柏林沒有大城市的擁擠，大家的生活步調都很悠閒，三三兩兩會有腳踏車騎過去，爸爸媽媽推著嬰兒車或帶著小孩悠哉地走在路上。

I think it's because that Berlin don't always crowded by cars, people, like other big cities, people has a casual tempo to live, parents are willing to walk with kids on the streets.

最喜歡的走路地點是Schöneberg，這是一塊我還沒有挖掘的地方，下次應該把Devin一起抓去那裡走一走。

She loves to work in Schöneberg, I'm not so familiar with this area, next time I shall invite her to have a nice walk :)

室友有一隻貓，名字就叫Berlin，每天傍晚就會叫個不停，但是他還滿乖巧的，很聽話的讓我為他拍了幾張照呀！

Her roommate has a cat names Berlin! He kept meow every evening, but he is nice to let me take photos!

後記， 其實今天見面主要都還是在聊些我們前幾次未完的話題，壓根都忘記去問我本來準備的問題了，真是越來越喜歡這個活動了！

So, basically we talked the most time about the topics that we used to have, I just forgot to ask the questions in my list, haha, I love this activity more and more now!
