Kae, 來自台北，台灣，住在柏林接近兩年了。目前是念柏林自由大學的碩士課程Arts and Media Administration(藝術媒體行政)。
Kae comes from Taipei, Taiwan. She lives in Berlin for almost 2 years, now she studies the master degree of Arts and Media Administration in Freie University.
為什麼是柏林？
WHY YOU CHOOSE BERLIN?
因為工作的緣故來德國出差，然後就順便來柏林玩了一個禮拜，覺得這裡就是我想要的地方，於是後來就來德國打工度假一年，因為很喜歡柏林，所以當初申請學校的時候也就只有申請柏林的學校。
The first time I came to Berlin is because a business trip to Germany, and then I went to Berlin for a week, I felt, this is the place I want to live. Therefore, I came here with working holiday visa for a year, and I do love this place, so I only applied to the schools in Berlin.
喜歡柏林什麼？
WHAT DO YOU LIKE IN BERLIN?
這裡對年輕人很好，年輕人有很多事情可以做，可以嘗試，大家可以自己自發地組織一些音樂的/藝術的/文化的活動，很多活動都是免費的，讓大家可以不顧一切的嘗試，去做一些想做的事情，也可以很多的參與/交流。這裡給人發展的空間很大，沒有那麼多的限制。國外有很多平台，讓年輕的設計師/藝術家，有發揮的空間，我覺得這件事很棒，在台灣的時候我曾經參加過學學文創舉辦的布瓦布榭暑期設計工作坊營隊，我覺得這是一個很棒的活動，可以跟很多設計的大師還有來自世界的人共同合作，如果台灣類似這樣的平台可以有更多就好了。
Berlin welcomes young people, young people can do a lot of things, can try different things if they want. People gather together to organize music, art, or culture activities, and many of them are free! So that people can try without fear, and they can join many groups if they want, to exchange the experiences with others. The space for people to find or build their own dream is big enough, and there are no that many limitations. Besides, there are many platform for young artists and designers to share and show their ideas, I found it really great! As I was in Taiwan, I once join a Design workshop at Boisbuchet which held by Xuexue, it is an international workshop, and it’s just awesome that you can work with the real master who is famous in the world and other people who come from all over the world! It would be nice if there are more platform like Xuexue in Taiwan, to provide a way to broaden one’s sight.
有特別喜歡什麼地方嗎？
IS THERE ANY PLACE YOU WILL RECOMMEND?
一般都是跟朋友出去，所以沒有特別固定的地方。如果是去派對的話，音樂好聽很重要，柏林在電子樂這方面還滿不錯的，例如Farbfernseher(a club)的音樂就很不錯！ Beach61這裡可以打沙灘排球！
I always go out with friends, so there are too many to tell. But for me, it’s really important to have a nice music in parties, and Berlin is quite good for people who likes electronic music, for example, Farbfernseher(a club) has nice music! You can play beach-volleyball here in Beach61 !
YOU HAVE STUDIED THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE IN UNIVERSITY, DOES IT MAKE ANY EFFECT TO YOUR WORK OR THE LIFE NOW?
外文系的好處就是有一個語言的優勢，但是單是這樣不夠，你需要別的強項，讓你跟別人不同，大學的時候我就打工去當業務助理，因為講話是一門藝術，需要學習，而也從那裡我學到了如何去開啓話題/跟別人聊天，後來畢業以後陸續也做了不同的工作，不同的類型，有的是公關，有的是業務，都需要我的外語專長，與人接觸且與藝術有相關，而我一直都喜歡藝術這方面，高中填自願的時候其實是一心想要念美術系的。
English is my advantage, but only that is not enough, you still need some other talent to tell the differences from others. I did part-time job as a Sales Assistant while studying in university, and from that job I learned how to speak with others and to start a conversation. After graduation, I worked in unlike jobs, such as Sales or PR(public relations）, but there is something in common, I keep connecting with people and art, and I always like art, in fact, as I was in senior high school, I want to be an artist.
藝術媒體行政，這個系聽起來有包山包海的感覺，有針對特定的區塊嗎？
Arts and Media Administration, IT SOUNDS REALLY ROUGH, DOES IT AIM TO ANY SPECIFIC AREA OF ART?
基本上沒有，我們班上同學有25個人，每個人都有不同的背景， 各自的強項，來自不同的國家，有著不同的文化，而且上課的內容也很有趣，基本上是很實際的，我們會去看展覽，然後討論，如果我是策展人，我會怎麼設計這個展？從不同中找出共通點，而這就是這個展覽不可或缺的要素。但是，基本上不管是什麼類型的藝術，都與文化有關係，因為多元才有趣。而且因為我們強調實際面的應用，所以我們也有關於如何拉贊助以及相關法律的課程。
Basically, no. We are 25 persons in class, everyone has different background and talent, comes from different country and has one’s own culture. Our class is practical and interesting, we will go to see the exhibitions, and then discuss: if I am the organizer, what and how will I do? Then you will find out that the common element from everyone is obvious the most important part of the exhibition. But whatever the type of art it is, there is something to do with culture, that’s why the varietes of culture is so interesting. We have many class about how to realize it in real as well, like how to find sponsors and the law class.
我一直都很喜歡聽大家說故事，說自己為什麼會在這裡，說自己為什麼會做這個決定，對我來說，有的時候回顧過去會讓人得到力量去面對未來，而且很有趣的是，過去的一切的確都有意義，就算現在或許看不到，但你不會知道將來某天你會用到它。
I always like to hear people tell their own story, say why they made this decision and what happened after that, sometimes when you look back, you will get the power that you might already forget to face the future, and I always believe, all the things that you've done before will be useful in one day you don't know, but it's for sure.
